NEW RENTAL BIKE THEFT INSURANCE IN 2009

Ptown Bikes has used Kryptonite U-Locks as part of their RENTAL BIKE THEFT INSURANCE PROGRAM since 1995. Several years ago the barrel style keys were changed to a flat aluminum key which caused our renters and ourselves problems. The locks didn’t work as smoothly and the keys were easily bent or broken.

We have switched over to ABUS hardened steel chains with integrated locks made in Germany. The hardened steel chain links are covered with a nylon sheath. We believe these locks are just as secure in the Provincetown market as were the U-locks; they are easier to use because they are flexible; the keys are tough and do not break; and the locks work smoothly and effortlessly.

We are always striving to offer our customers the best products for the most reasonable prices. Theft insurance is still $1/day or $5/wk, just as it was in 1995! We hope you enjoy this change! Bill
